Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) have
quickly become a major problem in America, and they continue
to cause massive concern among health care professionals.
Increasingly, some in the field are becoming skeptical of
the efficacy of "safer sex" methods, and are discussing
the limits of the safe sex approach in dealing with the epidemic.
A
recent article published in the American Journal of Obstetrics
and Gynecology (2004) discusses the extent of the STD
problem, and the ways in which it can, and cannot, be managed.
